In the Kish Island Pier Project, our design was guided by the following key objectives:
1-Establishing a seamless visual and architectural connection between the pier, shoreline, and a section of the urban boulevard.
2-Implementing an efficient and functional design that accommodates all required spaces.
3-Ensuring harmony with the island’s natural environment and climate, while using accessible and practical materials.
Our goal was to create a minimal yet functional design that meets all project requirements. Despite its simplicity, the design offers a remarkable visual presence throughout the day and night from various perspectives.
In this project, efforts were made to adopt a people-centered design, ensuring a well-connected spatial arrangement for accessibility and comfort. Additionally, various plazas were designed, considering both urban and coastal viewpoints.
A key principle was maintaining the horizon line throughout the project, providing expansive views from the pier to the boulevard and vice versa. Moreover, vegetation suitable for Kish Island’s climate was incorporated across all areas.
Given the region’s warm climate and high foot traffic during late hours, nighttime lighting was given special attention.
